We are a "jazz party."  We do not have an application process.  However, if you are an artist interested in being considered for future Jazz At Newport events, including our Jazz Around Town, feel free to send a promo packet to Jazz At Newport, P. O. Box 1315, Newport, OR 97365.

Over the first four years our audience has given us plenty of feedback regarding the artists they would like to see. It would take us 100 years to consider all the artists on our list. So, please understand if you don't hear from us.

Our festival is based in a town of 10,000 situated on the Pacific Ocean. Our primary source of musical selections is KLCC out of Eugene which broadcasts on KLCO 90.5. Generally speaking, our artistic choices are based on surveying our audience, reflecting on our past efforts, and seeking professional guidance from the artists who have performed at our events.

We are in service to the legacy of a uniquely American art form. We seek the highest level of commitment to a jazz party concept where all artists are willing to perform with all other artists in different and unique combinations.  The festival is produced by the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts with help from a dedicated team of volunteers.

We have a vision of a community banding together to create an exciting atmosphere for the enjoyment of jazz. Our goal is to remain a small festival. We consider our event to feature "straight ahead jazz," but we have been known to wander into what we consider "eclectic" ranges.
