Newport Performing Arts Center

Great jazz and jazz lovers, together on the beautiful Oregon coast!

The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA), as the regional arts council for the 363 miles of the Oregon coast, is seeking jazz images from coastal Oregon artists, for OCCA’s 9th annual international jazz festival in Newport, Oregon.

OCCA invites all Oregon Coast visual artists to submit concepts for the 2012 Jazz poster and related promotional pieces. The images should represent jazz scenes, jazz instruments, etc. (see the 2011 artwork at left as an example).

Original artwork may be in any two-dimensional medium and MUST BE suitable for reproduction in posters, fliers, advertising inserts, rack card, brochure schedule, web page, program, promotional clothing, etc.

In working with a variety of media, including print, web, video and screen printing, OCCA often has to size or crop the artwork, use only details, convert the artwork to black-and-white, superimpose text and photographs over the artwork, animate the image for web-based advertising and video, etc.

Submission date is January 16, 2012. Only digital submissions will be considered in a PDF or JPEG not exceeding 2 megabytes in size. Please email your submissions to Catherine Rickbone.

Final artwork delivery due February 1, 2012. Final digital artwork measuring 25” at shortest side and at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, must be submitted in either EPS or high-quality PDF format on a CD (mail to Jazz at Newport, P.O. Box 1315, Newport, OR 97365) or by large-file email delivery service, such as YouSendIt.

OCCA and the Jazz at Newport committee will select the winner and award an honorarium in return for use of the artwork for the 2012 Jazz at Newport event.

For more information, please call Catherine Rickbone, (541) 574-2652 or email her.
