Ron Green
Bass player Ron Green, who moved to the Oregon Coast just last year, has
been an active member of the jazz scene in Santa Fe, New Mexico for the past
several years. He spent most of his playing life in the Fort Worth/Dallas
area, doing club, concert and recording work. Ron's early musical
influences in East Texas were the local blues, gospel and country
performers, as well as his father and uncles who were big-band musicians
from the 1930's into the 1950's. Ron studied French Horn at the University
of North Texas, where he was active in orchestra, wind ensemble and quintet
playing while learning the bass and the idioms of jazz through jam sessions
and "hanging out."
Ron is a member of the David Hutson Quartet and the Lincoln Pops Big Band. |
